Why we decided to do this
As a Second-generation Puerto Rican, my early exposure to Spanish was limited to a few words from my parents and grandparents. It wasn't until I turned 18 that I decided to dive deep into my culture and finally learn the language and dive deeper into my heritage. To my surprise, I couldn't find a single resource that covered all the media, terms, and grammar specific to the country of my choosing which was Puerto Rico and its variations across different countries. So, over the next 8 years, I embarked on a personal quest. I gathered insights from my family, meticulously documented everything, and cross-checked details to create a comprehensive course. It wasn't an easy journey—I faced frustration early on, especially when I realized Spanish isn't uniform worldwide. But by immersing myself in Puerto Rican content and staying dedicated, I eventually reached a point where people started mistaking me for a local. Of course, there were moments of frustration and times when words flowed in my mind but stumbled out of my mouth. Yet, I persevered, and my advice to anyone on a similar journey is simple: keep going, even when it gets tough. It's all about embracing the challenges and staying committed to your goal of fluency. I've done the research for you so you don't have to, learn the basics then come enjoy our in-depth guides to the country of your choosing.
